An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join an SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Norwich. The role involves working with small class sizes, teaching students aged 11-16 who require additional support in their learning.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and structured lessons that develop students’ practical skills, confidence, and understanding of food technology. With lesson plans provided, this role allows teachers to focus on effective delivery and student engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons to students in Years 7-11.
  • Support students with SEMH needs, tailoring teaching approaches to meet their individual requirements.
  • Follow pre-prepared lesson plans, ensuring engaging and structured learning experiences.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and additional support where necessary.
  • Promote a safe and positive learning environment, encouraging students to develop their practical and theoretical knowledge.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff and other teachers to create an inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant experience as an Instructor Teacher.
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (essential).
  • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Passion for education and the ability to adapt teaching methods to individual student needs.
